Creativity, Community, & Coffee
I’m a big fan of alliteration, so I don’t resist the urge to use it when it fits (hence the title of this post). In this case, it also combines some of my favorite things! Here's a recap of what I've been up lately. Over the past several months, I’ve had the opportunity to connect with local businesses and organizations to share creativity in the community. I plan to continue this endeavor in the new year, and look forward to new and continued opportunities! As a former class

Catching Up with Coffee
It's been a hot minute since I've written anything on this blog, and I miss it! Also can't believe it's already mid-April.. Q1 flew by with new clients, projects, collaborations, and professional learning opportunities. The beginning of the year also started out strong with family and friend events. I like to keep busy during the winter months, especially when the cold weather zaps my energy and motivation. Right now I'm in the process of updating my website/ social media pag

Places of Productivity
A few months ago, I started writing about local small businesses, specifically coffee shops, that would serve as alternative places to work. I’ve reflected on my own experience as a small business owner who works remotely, often by myself. I have learned that getting out of the house every so often is helpful for my creativity and productivity. It’s also a win-win to support other small businesses while working somewhere other than at home. Since my first blog post in this s

Local Treasures
It’s hard to believe that August is coming to an end, and September is just around the corner! CreativeMornings Baltimore CreativeMornings is an international organization whose attendees gather in-person in cities around t

Aligning & Guiding with the Inner Compass
After the birth of my second son, I made the decision to step away from the art classroom after teaching for 10 years. This was not a simple nor easy decision, but I knew it was best for my situation. After all, teaching art itself was not why I chose to reevaluate my career path. It was a combination of other factors that caused unnecessary stress and made it challenging to find balance in my life. I knew that whatever job I held next would need to have flexibility and incor

Feeling Grounded
Today I had an aligned energy session (more to share on that in another post!) and something that came up during our conversation was the concept of grounding. What does it mean? Grounding takes the form of different methods. In one way, it is a practice for physically reconnecting with the earth, also known as earthing. Whether its walking barefoot or lying on the ground, these strategies can lead to positive effects on the body. Another form of grounding relates to the min

A Change of Scenery & Shift in Energy
Working from home has its benefits and challenges. I'm happy to give up a commute with traffic to allow for more flexibility in the morning. Mornings can be be a whirlwind to get two little ones out the door by a certain time (we aim for between 8-8:30 am), despite everyone being awake for a few hours. My current work also allows me the opportunity to work remotely, not just from home. The house can be a source of distraction, which I'm sure others who work from home can rela
